Air Deccan Airline sues man for opening door

New Delhi: Low-cost airline Air Deccan filed a case against a passenger when he opened the emergency-exit door of the aircraft, reacting to the diversion of the Delhi-bound plane after over a day's delay due to fog.

Air Deccan has suffered $ 20,000 (around Rs 9 lakh) in damage and explained that the escape slide of the emergency door of the aircraft deflated after the incident.

The airline grounded the aircraft to do the necessary repair works. The airline will now have to replace it with a new one, officials said.

The aircraft had to be brought back to Mumbai as it could not land at Delhi due to poor weather conditions. When passengers were not allowed to deplane, a young passenger was noticed trying to open the emergency door, an airline spokesperson said.

The airlines has registered a case against the pasenger, Dheeraj Malhotra, with the airport police station for damaging its property, the spokesperson said.

Bon Jovi's bum pinched at a party

Washington: Rocker Jon Bon Jovi would not have minded being groped by an admiring female fan, however, when the person who grabbed his posterior happened to be a man, he had a very different reaction.

The rocker and his pals were partying at a yacht club on the Caribbean island of St Barths recently when another male guest grabbed Bon Jovi’s bum.

An insider at the do revealed that Jovi had been furious at being “manhandled”, but before he could get into an altercation with the man, his pals intervened and settled the matter.

"Naturally, Jon wasn't best pleased at being manhandled, but his pals piled in before he could said anything," The Mirror quoted the insider, as saying.

As for what happened to the reveller who can now boast that he pinched Jovi’s bottom, well it seems the altercations turned quite “heated” before he was eventually thrown out of the party by security.

"It all got quite heated and the man was thrown out by security," the insider added.

'Topless' dance on TV shocks Japan viewers

TOKYO: A troupe of dancers in skin-coloured body suits had Japanese national broadcaster NHK apologising to viewers of its New Year's Eve music special for what seemed to be a full-scale Janet Jackson-style wardrobe malfunction.

The dancers, who all appeared to be topless and wore skimpy bikini-style bottoms and feathered head-dresses, covered the stage during a performance by singer OZMA, prompting about 250 viewers to phone in and complain.

"The dancers were wearing body suits, but we apologise for any misunderstanding," a presenter announced towards the end of the 57th annual "Red and White Song Contest".

Oprah Winfrey's $40 Million School to Open

Oprah Winfrey is getting ready to open the $40 million school she paid to have built in South Africa – in grand Oprah style.

The 22-acre Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in the town of Henly-on-Klip is holding its big opening this week. Reportedly due to attend the ceremonies are John Travolta, Stevie Wonder, Nelson Mandela and Angelina Jolie, according to Newsweek magazine.

Winfrey, who handpicked the 152 12- and 13-year-old girls (out of the more than 3,5000 who applied), tells the magazine that the students "deserve to be surrounded by beauty, and beauty does inspire."

And that's what they will get. Winfrey personally chose the pleated uniforms the girls will wear, as well as the 200-thread count sheets. She also tested out the beds to make sure they are comfortable and had extra large closets built. The school also includes a yoga studio, a beauty salon and indoor and outdoor theaters.

"I wanted this to be a place of honor for them because these girls have never been treated with kindness. They've never been told they are pretty or have wonderful dimples. I wanted to hear those things as a child."

Britney Spears Parties on New Year eve, Collapses

Britney Spears was spotted 'getting busy' with Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart on Friday night while she was partying over the New Years Holiday weekend.

The couple was seen getting it on at the popular Arizona club called the 'Jackrabbit Lounge.'

According to reports, the pair were flirting hardcore on the patio area all night long, bumping and grinding and whispering in each others' ears.

On Monday morning, less than one hour into the New Year, Spears collapsed at the "Pure" nightclub inside Caesars Palace. Only 50 minutes earlier, she danced for the crowd to her song I'm A Slave For You and did not one but two countdowns - one outside and one inside. Inside the club she yelled "What happens in Vegas always stays in Vegas" and after the countdown she wished everybody a Happy New Year.

Britney had reportedly been seated on a cabana bed overlooking the dance floor at 12:50AM talking with one of her male dancers, reports Vegas Pop. She indicated that she wanted to leave and as she stood up, "she went into a dead faint and just fell right to the floor."

Security and two of her dancers reportedly wrapped Britney in what looked like a blanket-hooded poncho and carried her out of the club.

It appeared as if "she was being dragged as she wasn't walking under her own speed" said one eyewitness. "It looked as if they wanted to get her up to her hotel room as soon as possible."

Vegas Pop reports that at 2am this morning, an ambulance was summoned to the hotel but it was unclear at this time if it was brought to Caesars for Spears.
