Angelina Jolie: Kissing Matt is nothing like kissing Brad

Agencies

She says Pitt happens to be the “love” of her life, while Damon is only a “friend”

Angelina Jolie's love scene with Matt Damon in their new movie may be steamy, but she insists that beau Brad Pitt was not the least bit threatened. The reason - Pitt happens to be the "love" of the actress' life, while Damon is only a "friend".

Jolie, who stars opposite the Hollywood hunk in "The Good Shepherd", told her 'Good Morning America' host Diane Sawyer that Pitt, and Damon's wife Luciana Bozan Barroso couldn't have "cared less" about the love scene, for all four of them are very secure in their respective relationships.

"One's a friend and one's my love," the Post Chronicle quoted her, as telling Sawyer.

"In reality, both the people we're involved with couldn't have cared less about that (love scene) because they know us," she said.

"It's one of those things where it's like the least threatening person. Good luck to you guys, I hope it's not too awkward," Jolie added.

The 31-year old mum of three recently opened up about her relationship with Pitt, and in her first in-depth interview in two years revealed that she had never intentionally set out to break-up Pitt's marriage to former 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston.

Brangelina's Wild Ride in Vietnam

Posted Nov 24th 2006 10:45AM by TMZ Staff

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie traded turkey for pho yesterday as they made a surprise visit to the capital city of Vietnam. But the parents of three –- and no doubt more – made things a little more interesting by cruising around Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike, but sans protective headgear, if this photo is to be believed.

The couple swooped into Vietnam after a visit last week to Cambodia, where their adopted son Maddox was born. After their two-wheeled tour of the city, Brangelina dined on the native cuisine at a popular restaurant converted from an old temple. When asked by a reporter from a local newspaper about navigating the crazy streets of the old Saigon, Pitt replied, "There will be no problem."

Clooney is 'Sexiest Man Alive'!

Press Trust of India

Los Angeles, November 16, 2006

Oscar winner George Clooney has struck a blow for the greying generation after being named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive".

The silver-haired 45-year-old beat out a host of younger rivals yesterday to come out on top of the magazine's annual list, pipping the likes of Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio for first place.

"Brad's going to be upset," Clooney quipped to the magazine in a reference to his friend and Ocean's Twelve co-star Pitt, who came in 15th.

Clooney has enjoyed a successful 12 months, which included a best supporting actor Academy Award for his performance as a tormented CIA agent in "Syriana," as well as a best director nomination for "Good Night and Good Luck."

But Clooney, who also won People's "Sexiest" award in 1997, is not sure he will be able to cope with his new status.

"There's a lot of pressure," he told People. "There are all the events you have to show up for. The sash you have to wear is embarrassing."

Clooney once famously declared that he would never marry again following his divorce from actress Talia Balsam, and was coy over whether his position had softened in recent years.

"Who knows? I've been married. It's not something I'm looking out for. The truth is, I'm really happy," he said.

Patrick Dempsey, the star of television medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," was second in the poll, while Ashton Kutcher of "That '70s Show" fame was third.

Others in the top 10 included Pirates of the Caribbean star Depp, The Departed star DiCaprio and Brokeback Mountain's Jake Gyllenhaal.

Brad Pitt apologises to police chief

Press Trust of India

Posted online: Friday, November 17, 2006 at 2011 hours IST

Mumbai, November 17: Three bodyguards of top Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie were arrested here today on the charge of manhandling people, an incident for which her companion Brad Pitt subsequently apologised to the police.

The three bodyguards -- Thomas Edward Mcadams, Robert Patrick Donne and Michael John Bretti -- were later granted bail by a local court. They were arrested on charges of criminal intimidation and passing racial slurs.

The incident occurred yesterday during the shooting at a school in south Mumbai of Jolie's film A Mighty Heart, which is being produced by Pitt.

After Pitt and actor Irfan Khan, who also appears in the film, called on him, Police Commissioner A N Roy said, "They had come to apologise. They clarified that causing any hurt to people's sentiments was not the intention of the bodyguards.

"I've asked him (Pitt) to speak to the media which he will be doing shortly."

Roy said the film crew had not obtained permission to shoot at Badruddin Tyebji High School from police, "due to which yesterday's incident occurred".

Ten parents and two mediapersons had complained to police that they were abused and manhandled by Jolie's bodyguards.

Roy said his force had provided security to the film unit wherever it had asked permission to shoot. Yesterday's incident is being thoroughly investigated, he added.

To a query whether police would provide extra security to the Hollywood couple, Roy said, "They have not asked for any such thing and the question does not arise."

DCP (Zone I) Brijesh Singh told PTI, "Henceforth, we will not allow them to shoot at locations where permission has not been sought to avoid such incidents."

Angelina Jolie's bodyguards arrested

November 17, 2006 11:21 IST, Rediff.com

Three of Angelina Jolie's bodyguards were arrested by the Mumbai police on Friday morning for their involvement in a fracas during the shooting of Jolie's film A Mighty Heart in a Mumbai school on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Brajesh Singh confirmed the arrests but refused to spell out the charges against them.

Trouble had erupted when the actress reached Anjuman-E-Islam school on Thursday noon for the film shoot, which clashed with the time school students were about to leave for home.

At first, parents were amused to see Angelina shooting in the school premises. Then, it gave way to chaos.

Shainaz Khan, a parent, said. "The school premises was restricted to us and we could not find our children. Angelina's bodyguard abused many of us, including women, and some of them also passed racist comments like 'You bloody Indian.' It was humiliating."

The film unit had apparently set up a Pakistani police station inside the school premises.

Scuffle disrupts Angelina's film shoot

November 16, 2006, 16:22 IST, Rediff.com

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie's bodyguards got into a scuffle with the parents of a local Mumbai school, even as shooting for her film, A Mighty Heart, got disrupted.

Trouble erupted when the actress reached Anjuman-E-Islam school on Thursday noon for the film shoot, which clashed with the time school students were about to leave for home.

At first, parents were amused to see Angelina shooting in the school premises. Then, it gave way to chaos.

"There was chaos and confusion," Shainaz Khan, a parent, said. "The school premises was restricted to us and we could not find our children. Angelina's bodyguard abused many of us, including women, and some of them also passed racist comments like 'You bloody Indian.' It was humiliating."

The film unit had apparently set up a Pakistani police station inside the school premises.

The general secretary of Parent and Teacher Association Mohammad Yusuf Patni said that the children were shocked to see people dressed as Pakistani policemen in the school.

"The actors were holding guns and children were scared to see them," Patni said. "They had converted one room into a police station. The school authorities did not even inform us about the shoot. The bodyguards did not show any mercy towards women, and pushed them too. How could the management give permission to shoot when the children were in school? People were abused by Angelina's bodyguards. It was quite shameful."

When rediff.com contacted President of Anjuman-I-Islam, Sami Khatib, he downplayed the issue by stating that it was a minor one. "Everything is over now. There is no big issue," Khatib stated, adding, "We had taken all the necessary permission for the shoot."

Angelina is expected to leave for Pune by the weekend, to complete her shooting there. A Mighty Heart is based on the life of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was killed by terrorists in 2002.

Meanwhile, Dallington TV House, which is producing the film, has issued a statement that the paparazzi rushed in when the school gates were open, and created chaos and confusion. They also said that the bodyguards were not responsible for the event.

The film shoot is expected to resume tomorrow.

A taste of Mumbai for Angelina and Brad

Angelina and Brad Pitt had also tasted Mumbai life when they went for a rickshaw ride in Pune, almost a month ago.

Monday morning saw Mumbai's train commuters taken by surprise when Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie decided to take a local train from Charni Road station to Churchgate.

Dressed informally in T-shirt and cargo pants, Angelina was accompanied by costar Dan Futterman (right) and several bodyguards.

The actress, along with Brad Pitt, is in the city for a week to shoot for the film A Mighty Heart, based on the life of Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl, who was killed by Al Qaeda operatives in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2002.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were finally spotted taking in a bit of Pune October 8, when they sampled an autorickshaw ride!

For four days -- courtesy Indian and international photographers, who have done a 24/7 stake-out of the couple's hotel, Le Meridien, Pune -- we have had to suffer a series of hazy pics of Angelina seen through hotel screens, photographs of their Mercedes van and of their scuffling bodyguards.

The couple, along with their three children Zahara, Maddox and Shiloh, are in Pune to shoot for A Mighty Heart, a film based on a book of the same name by Marianne Pearl. A Mighty Heart is the story of American journalist Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and killed by Islamic extremists in Karachi, Pakistan, in 2002.

Jolie will play Pearl's wife Marianne, and Dan Futterman plays Daniel. Pitt will produce the film.

In this pic, Pitt holds on to Jolie protectively as she cradles five-year-old Maddox, her adopted son from Cambodia, another land of autorickshaws. Makes us wonder: Is the auto ride in preparation for the role? Or is it just to get a taste of the real India?

Brad takes a peek at Pune

Their ride apparently lasted a mere 20 minutes, past a few shops.

Panting photographers, in hot pursuit, and rather too slow traffic lights ensured a U-turn after 1200 seconds.

It was also an occasion for the couple's security to sample our three-wheel wonders as they too joined the calvacade in autorickshaws of their own. And at each signal they jumped out to form a protective ring around one of Hollywood's First Couples.

But even 20 minutes must have been a relief for Brad and Angelina who have not budged from their hotel in central Pune, close to the railway station, since they arrived in the city October 5.

The couple's security, while much more unobtrusive than our Z category measures for VVIPs, is pretty tight and very little is known about their itinerary in their month of stay.

But some shooting locations seem to have been revealed. Like a yellow-coloured car, with a Karachi license plate, was found parked near a building.

As you may have guessed, Pune will be converted to Karachi, where Daniel Pearl met his bloody end, for this film.

Brangelina to pave the way for others

The film also stars Irrfan Khan and Aly Khan, along with Angie.

Brangelina, as they are called by the international papparazzi, have probably set the trend for other Hollywood couples to come to India. Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas plan to visit India to shoot a film called Racing The Monsoon together.

Jolie, Pitt land in trouble?

Anil Sharma (Indo-Asian News Service)

Jodhpur, October 26, 2006

Authorities at the Jodhpur airport are contemplating an inquiry against Hollywood's star couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for landing their helicopter in a hotel compound in Jodhpur without permission.

While the air traffic controller (ATC) remained tight-lipped over the entire issue, airport officials said a probe would be instituted.

The couple, who arrived on October 20 by helicopter from Jaipur for a two-day trip, landed in the Bardari lawns at the Umed Bhavan Palace Hotel.

Sources at the city's airport said the actors had sought permission to land at the Jodhpur airport. But they were denied landing rights by the air traffic controller (ATC) for want of prior sanction.

So, the Mr and Mrs Smith stars went ahead and landed within the Umed Bhavan Palace compound.

City administration officials said that they have no information about the case.

"We don't have any knowledge of the incident. We are looking into the matter and we will find out whether any rules have been flouted or not. But it is the primary responsibility of the ATC," city magistrate B.R. Belu said.

The actors, their son Maddox and their 21-member Hollywood unit, were welcomed by members of the Jodhpur royalty at the palace hotel. Hotel sources said they celebrated Diwali here.
Jolie-Pitt land in trouble!!

Brangelina, as the couple is known together, is said to have purchased traditional kundan and minakari jewellery from Gems & Art Plaza - a Jodhpur-based jewellery showroom.

Jolie and Pitt are camping in Pune to shoot for A Mighty Heart, a film on the Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl who was abducted and slain by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002.

Jolie plays Pearl's widow Mariane in the film.

The couple has two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, and also a biological child, Shiloh.

The stars reportedly left for Pune on Monday.

Jolie faints, Brad gets worried

Asian News International

Pune, October 23, 2006

Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie, who is shooting for her latest flick in Pune, reportedly fainted on the sets.

According to Life & Style Weekly will print in this week's edition that Pitts had a bit of a scare when Angelina collapsed on the set in India while filming 'A Mighty Heart.'

'Angelina Jolie was in the middle of filming her latest movie, A Mighty Heart, in Pune, India, when something went wrong. The scene she was shooting on Oct. 10 was an emotional one: In it, her character, Mariane Pearl, learns that her husband, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, has been killed by terrorists in Pakistan,” a source was quoted by the Post Chronicle

"Angie literally collapsed while she was filming it," he added.

Brad Pitt rushed to her side and called for a break so she could recover, the insider says.

Angie, who was soon able to resume shooting, quickly chalked up the collapse to the intensity of the scene.

"Angelina really threw herself into it and was overcome with emotion," says the insider.'

However the magazine reports that it has learnt from a Pitt family source that it was actually the third time Angelina had fainted in three days. The friend claims that the first occurrance was on Oct. 8, after Brad and Angelina's highly-publicized rickshaw ride with son Maddox, 5.

'The report details that after returning to their hotel suite at Le Méridien, "Brad said he was talking to Angelina, and the next thing he knew, she'd collapsed onto the floor," says the family friend.

"She just fainted. He sat her up and got her some water, and she seemed fine, but Brad says it frightened the life out him."

The insider claims that Angie reassured Brad that she was just reacting to the heat and the crowds during the ride, says the friend, who adds, "But Brad said Angelina fainted the next day while just getting out of bed! She was out for only seconds - but she was out cold."
