Story behind the lip lock

Last year Fashion retail mogul Philip Green had bid £60,000 for a kiss with supermodel Kate during a charity auction at Annabel's nightclub in London. But when he declined - in deference to wife Tina - the supermodel puckered up instead with Khan for one full minute.

"We thought it was going to be a kiss on the cheek," an "eyewitness" was quoted as saying. "It lasted just over 60 seconds. A few people were shocked but everyone was laughing after."

Moss and Khan locked lips to raise money for the Hoping Foundation for Palestinian refugee children.

Khan, 32, ex-wife of cricketer Imran Khan, is going out with Hugh Grant, himself the object of intense bidding when a guest paid £12 000 to play golf with him, with Khan as the caddy.

Other lots for auction included a cricket lesson with Jemima's ex-husband Imran Khan. Celebrities including Sadie Frost, Jerry Hall and Rupert Everett helped raise more than £200,000 for the charity.
