Rs.10m looted from City man in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, December 3:

A gang of 10 robbers today looted ornaments and cash amounting to around Rs 10 million from the residence of a local businessman at Lainchour, Kathmandu, police said.

According to the police, the looters who were armed with khukuris and swords took Rs 1 million and $ 4,000 in cash from the house of Ravi Prasad Kasajoo at around 2 am today.

Assistant Sub-Inspector at the Sorhakhutte Ward Office of the Metropolitan Police, Tilak Bhandary, said Kasajoo has reported that the gang also looted some 400 tolas of gold ornaments along with the cash. The police said they have intensified the hunt for the gang members. Kasajoo owns a gas depot at Jyatha. His house is situated behind the Dairy Development Corporation office at Lainchour.

ASI Bhandary said three motorbikes — with registration numbers Ba 7 Pa 8653, Ba 18 Pa 4250 and Ba 4 Pa 7666 — used by the looters were found at the incident site.
